Compare runtime and weight without mixing measurements
Two headline numbers often dominate a cordless comparison: minutes and pounds. They are only useful when you know what was measured. A motorized floor head draws a different load from a non-motorized hand tool, while a vacuum standing in its collection dock is a different object from the stick carried upstairs.
Runtime describes a test condition
Several Shark packages state their maximum at the hand vacuum in Eco mode with a non-motorized tool. That does not establish the same duration on carpet with the floor head running. Dyson maximum-runtime claims are conditional too. Automatic suction response, stronger modes and the attached tool change demand. Use the headline as context, then plan a realistic cleaning route with the important rooms first.
The Gen5outsize Absolute's up-to-140-minute figure spans two batteries. The extra battery is a real supplied item, but two-battery total runtime is not one-charge runtime. Consider how and where you will keep the spare ready. A second pack can help a long session; a conveniently charged smaller machine can suit brief daily work better.
Weight needs the working configuration
An exact assembled-stick weight helps compare carrying between levels. A hand-vacuum figure helps with a different task, and adding an attachment changes balance. A docked-system figure includes equipment that stays on the floor. This site's numerical weight requirement uses confirmed assembled-stick figures and leaves unbridged system measurements out.
Try a realistic position if possible. Guide the complete cleaner across a floor, lift it onto a stair and hold the hand unit toward a shelf. A single button can avoid continuous trigger pressure, but cannot remove the motor's weight. Compare the V15 trigger routine with Gen5detect button operation on that basis.
For bin size, note the units as well: four US quarts equal one US gallon. Nominal capacities are useful planning references, not permission to overfill. Hair and dense grit occupy the container differently.
