Samsung Bespoke AI Jet Ultra review

Samsung's Bespoke AI Jet Ultra puts an automatic emptying station, automatic floor sensing and a telescopic pipe into one dry-cleaning package. The Satin Black US model VS90F40DMK/AA is a substantial seven-pound stick, so its appeal depends as much on your handling preferences as its prominent suction specification.

Start with the weight you will actually carry

The US sheet lists the vacuum at 7 pounds and the vacuum-plus-station system at 25 pounds. The seven-pound figure is the relevant starting point for carrying the stick upstairs. The docked figure belongs to moving the entire system. A handheld configuration with a small attachment is different again; do not treat the complete-stick weight as a measurement of that shorter assembly.

For a shopper setting a firm six-pound stick limit, the 5.95-pound Jet Lite is the closer Samsung option. If wrist comfort is the main concern, compare the shape and balance in a store where possible. A specification can establish total weight without establishing how comfortable the handle will be for a particular person.

A station needs room to be used

The included All-in-One Clean Station collects debris from the vacuum and provides its home between sessions. Samsung publishes a docked size of 11.8 inches wide, 46.9 high and 13.7 deep. Plan space for taking the stick off, reaching the bag compartment and keeping the surrounding route clear. Placing the station in a congested doorway can make an otherwise convenient routine irritating.

The vacuum bin holds a nominal 0.5 liter, about 0.53 US quart, while the station's separate capacity is 2 liters. Those volumes are not interchangeable: the larger station does not let the handheld collect two liters before returning home. Three station bags are supplied. Consider the ongoing availability of the correct bags along with filters and replacement brushes when comparing long-term ownership.

Read the hundred-minute claim with its condition

The Ultra includes one 25.2-volt lithium-ion battery. The US sheet lists 100 minutes on Min, 49 on Mid, 16 on Max and 1 on Jet, with the maximum-runtime condition specified for a nonmotorized tool. It also lists a five-hour charge. A powered floor head changes the load, so the hundred-minute number should not be used to promise an uninterrupted whole-house floor route.

The Lite's sheet also uses a nonmotorized-tool condition for its sixty-minute claim. Neither headline establishes the duration of a powered-floor route. For a long route, establish which head and power level you normally need, then decide whether a break for charging is workable. A removable battery offers replacement flexibility; this particular box still lists only one battery.

Automation and attachments address separate decisions

AI Cleaning Mode 2.0 with automatic floor sensing can reduce manual suction changes as the surface changes. The supplied Active Dual Brush is the main mixed-floor tool. Samsung also lists the Anti-Tangle Pet Tool+, extension crevice tool and combination tool. These are practical reasons to consider the package if your route includes furniture edges and above-floor cleanup as well as open flooring.

The telescopic pipe helps adjust length but is not a bending wand. The extension crevice tool is not evidence of a flexible crevice attachment. If reaching under low furniture without lowering your arm is essential, compare the Shark IP1251 and its documented bending-wand arrangement. If a particle-count screen is essential, the Dyson Gen5detect provides a different kind of feedback from a general digital status display.

The specification mentions a Wet setting, but enabling it requires a separately sold Spinning Sweeper Brush. The supplied US box is therefore a dry vacuum package. Its HEPA specification also does not mean that emptying bags, handling filters or clearing wrapped hair becomes maintenance-free. Use the current model instructions for cleaning and drying removable parts before reassembly.

When the Ultra is the right choice

The Ultra suits a buyer who wants Samsung's included automatic emptying arrangement and floor-sensing controls, accepts the seven-pound stick and has a permanent station location. It is less persuasive when minimum carrying weight, a large onboard bin or two included batteries leads the shopping list. Choose the Lite for the lighter station-equipped route, or inspect the manual-empty Jet packages if station space and bag supplies are unnecessary complications.
