Shark PowerDetect IP3253 review: the flexible-crevice and FurFins package

IP3253 deserves a separate package check even though its PowerDetect Clean & Empty body resembles IP3251. The current US box lists a Flexible Crevice Tool and FurFins Tool alongside the system and odor-neutralizer puck. If those are the attachments you intend to use around furniture and awkward gaps, that is a real purchasing distinction. Do not decide that the final three digits are merely a finish code, or substitute the accessory list from the better-known IP3251 listing.

Start with the awkward places

A flexible crevice tool is relevant when the cleaning problem is a gap with an awkward approach, such as the side of fixed furniture. Before choosing the kit for that reason, consider the gap's entrance and what lies beyond it. Flexibility helps direct an attachment; it cannot establish that a blocked passage is accessible or that a delicate surface tolerates contact. Check the actual tool dimensions and keep the suction opening clear during use.

The FurFins name establishes the named supplied pet attachment, but the current box does not describe it as the motorized hand tool offered separately on the product page. Those should remain different items. A household that specifically needs powered agitation on suitable upholstered stairs should confirm the compatible motorized tool and final package before buying. Purchasing a pet-oriented kit is not enough to guarantee every kind of pet-hair attachment.

The station changes waste handling

This is a Clean & Empty system with automatic charging and debris transfer when docked. Pick its location before committing to the package. You need outlet access, room to lift and return the stick, and access to the larger collection container. If the convenient spot is also a narrow route through the room, a smaller charging arrangement may fit the household better even when automatic emptying sounds attractive.

The up-to-45-day dirt-storage statement is conditional. It should prompt a capacity comparison, not a reminder set blindly six weeks into the future. Inspect the base while learning how quickly your household fills it. Hair-heavy cleaning may occupy space differently from fine grit. Automatic transfer also leaves filter care and blockage checks as ownership tasks, so plan for access to the station as well as its everyday parking footprint.

A substantial mixed-floor format

The machine uses the DuoClean Detect two-roller floor arrangement with dirt, edge, floor and direction detection. That gives a single-head route across suitable carpets and hard floors. It is useful for a circuit that crosses rugs repeatedly, where changing between separate optical and carpet heads could interrupt the job. Detection features do not remove the need to inspect missed edges or use small tools around obstructions.

The MultiFlex wand bends for under-furniture reach, and the cleaning path is listed at 10.2 inches. Check both measurements that matter in your home: the width of a route and the vertical clearance below furniture. A bend in the tube cannot reduce the nozzle's physical size. The nominal onboard dust cup is 0.7 US quart. Emptying through the base is convenient, but the onboard path still needs to remain clear.

Read the exact table with care

The product identifies IP3253 in its model field and box, although part of its descriptive copy names IP3251. The separate accessory list is why this assessment keeps IP3253 distinct. Its table lists 18.47 pounds for the station package without isolating the carried stick; no exact carrying weight is borrowed from another model. Obtain that value before purchase if a maximum lifting requirement is essential.

One battery is included and charging is stated at six hours. The up-to-70-minute claim is measured at the hand vacuum in Eco mode, so it does not establish an equivalent powered-floor session. LED lights are specified; blue Reveal illumination is not established for this exact package. Choose IP3253 when the supplied flexible crevice and FurFins attachments fit recurring jobs and you want automatic emptying. Compare IP3251 when its Duster Crevice and Pet Multi-Tool box better matches the tools you actually use.
