Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Is Tineco’s named ZeroTangle brush essential?
The current US S30 page names ZeroTangle and attributes a 99% reduction in hair tangles to Tineco lab data; results vary and this is not an independent test.

The exact US product page lists a 0.6-liter dustbin, about 0.63 US quart.

The PURE ONE S30 is the more compelling of these two compact S-series choices when you want Tineco’s named ZeroTangle floor brush and a larger cup, not simply the longest number in a runtime headline. Tineco lists a 0.6-liter bin and describes the supplied powered brush for hard floors and carpet. The S30’s main catch is a source conflict: its current US store page calls out 200 air watts, while an earlier Tineco capture for the same product handle used 150 air watts. I would not use either number as a deciding performance comparison.
Why the S30 is different from the S20
The S30’s ZeroTangle name is the clearest purchase distinction. Tineco says the powered brush reduces hair tangles by 99% in its own lab data, and the page expressly says results vary with user habits and environment. That is a manufacturer claim, not an independent home test or a promise that the roller will never need cleaning. If long hair or pet fur is a recurring part of your route, the named design gives you a specific feature to investigate; if you want a verified anti-wrap result in your own mix of rugs, inspect the brush and maintenance directions before relying on the headline.
The exact S20 page instead describes a “clogless” brush for larger debris such as cereal and pet litter. Clog handling and hair-wrap reduction are different promises. The S20 page does not call its head ZeroTangle, so choosing the S20 should not be treated as meeting a requirement for that named technology. Conversely, if the S30’s ZeroTangle requirement is not important, the S20 retains a lit floor head and a smaller-bin package with a lower published suction figure.
The US page shows an S30 LED headlight but gives no green-light angle; do not equate it with the green dust-revealing light Tineco names on some PURE ONE models. If that green light is essential, verify the exact model’s wording.
A bin and runtime story with limits
Tineco specifies a 0.6-liter bin—about 0.63 US quart—versus 0.4 liter (about 0.42 quart) for the S20. That difference can mean fewer stops to empty during a debris-heavy pass, but neither cup empties into a tower. The S30 uses a one-click manual dust flap and a wall-mounted charging dock. The dock is not an automatic dust-transfer station or the freestanding tool rack used by the S70.
The S30’s current page gives more context than one maximum: Eco is listed at up to 65 minutes with the 2-in-1 Crevice Brush and up to 45 with the ZeroTangle floor brush. These Tineco lab figures are not a guarantee for your carpet or chosen setting; the longer claim is not powered-floor runtime. The S20 is advertised for up to 55 minutes, but its page does not pair that ceiling with a named tool and mode.
The current store copy also contains an unresolved specification conflict: the S30 title and feature block say 200AW, while an earlier Tineco capture of this same S30 URL said 150AW. I have left the suction field unconfirmed rather than select the more favorable value. The manual does establish a 25.2-volt battery system, 350-watt rated power and 0.6-liter dustbin, but those electrical ratings do not settle the advertised air-watt discrepancy or predict pickup on your floors.
Controls, care and package boundaries
The US-linked S30 manual identifies Eco, Med and Max modes and a power/mode switch. It is a dry, indoor household vacuum; the manual warns against wet surfaces and standing water. It describes cleaning the bin and filters, removing the mesh and HEPA filter, letting washed parts dry completely, and removing the roller for hair and fiber care. The manual says filter and HEPA washing every six months, while the current store FAQ advises cleaning the HEPA every three months. Follow the instruction sheet supplied with your exact unit, or ask Tineco to reconcile the difference; never put a damp filter back in the vacuum.
The manual shows a removable battery and a provision for charging a spare on the wall dock, but that does not prove a second battery is included in the VA200100US carton. The online feature page does not present a complete box-content list. It refers to a 2-in-1 Crevice Brush for a runtime condition, yet a shopper who requires a specific small tool should verify the retailer’s exact carton rather than infer every item from the runtime wording or a studio image. The current store page says the item is unavailable/backordered even though its variant data carries an available flag; stock and dispatch timing are unsettled.
Who should choose it—and who should compare further
The S30 fits a shopper who wants a compact cordless stick, a 0.6-liter manual-empty bin, a powered head Tineco names for hard floor and carpet, and the brand’s ZeroTangle feature. In the finder, a required ZeroTangle brush points to the S30 rather than the S20; a bin minimum near 0.6 quart also separates it from the S20’s smaller cup. If your essential request is a confirmed assembled carry weight, a named powered upholstery brush, or automatic emptying, this page does not establish those features. The S50 Pro is a more clearly documented alternative for a folding tube, green floor light and included Mini Power Brush; the S70 adds a freestanding charging-and-tool stand. Neither charging stand nor this S30 wall dock empties dust automatically.
Choose the S20 if its smaller cup and “clogless” brush claims suit your route; choose a Tineco station model if automatic emptying is essential. For either S-series vacuum, treat runtime and suction as manufacturer specifications, not results from your carpet or hair load.
