Shark Reveal: choosing a base capacity

Shark Reveal IP3256 or IP3266: 45 or 60 days?

Shark's PowerDetect Reveal family presents two exact US dock packages around a practical difference: IP3256 advertises a 45-day base and IP3266 advertises a 60-day XL base. Do not confuse those numbers with cordless run time. Both pages describe up to 70 minutes measured at the hand vacuum in ECO mode with a non-motorized tool. The number of minutes you get while pushing a powered floor head is not stated by that claim.

Start with the emptying habit you want

A dock can charge the vacuum and automatically transfer its dust after use, so the stick is ready for the next session without an immediate manual cup dump. The remaining job is still to monitor and empty the dock itself. The days are maximum capacity descriptions, not household calendars: a home with heavy shedding, frequent vacuuming or tracked-in debris may need to empty sooner. Choose 60 only when the extra advertised storage is valuable enough to influence your routine; IP3256's 45-day claim already describes a substantial collection interval for lighter use.

Floor features are otherwise closely related

Both exact pages describe a DuoClean Detect head with two brushrolls, Floor Detect, Dirt Detect, Edge Detect, Direction Detect and a bending MultiFLEX wand. Both describe the blue Reveal light for hidden hard-floor dust and a hand-vac conversion. The lighting is not a carpet-illumination claim. Check the height beneath the furniture you actually need to reach; “flex wand” does not give an exact furniture-gap measurement.

Keep the box and measurements exact

IP3256's page names a Crevice Tool, Upholstery Tool and accessory bag. IP3266's page conflicts with itself: a highlighted “What's Included” summary mentions a Duster Crevice Tool and Dusting Brush, while the separate box list names a Duster Crevice Tool and Upholstery Tool. If a particular brush or pet tool is essential, resolve the current seller's exact package rather than borrowing names from IP3256 or a nearby PowerDetect package. Published weight fields also have no clear carried-stick basis, and the IP3256 10.2-inch measurement is a cleaning path rather than a confirmed outside nozzle width. Neither is a dependable way to decide a strict carrying or furniture-clearance limit.

For the 60-day variant's own limits, read the IP3266 assessment; for the smaller station's named list, see IP3256. When capacity alone decides the purchase, compare the real floor space and current package terms, not a marketing runtime headline.
